2025 Ace of Clubs and Mini McKenney Unit Awards
2025 Ace of Clubs and Mini McKenney Unit Awards
On Sunday May 18, unit president Lamya Agelidis summarized the unit's current state of affairs. Even though the fiscal year has not yet ended (June 30th), the Board is pleased to announced that the unit is financially healthy with a current balance of $55,000+ and a profit of $800 in revenue over expenses. Our table count has averaged 15+ tables, same as FY 2024. Our membership has slightly declined from 519 in 2024 to 504 in 2025. Our NLM sectional at Redwood in October was very well received and we are scheduling another one for October 2025. Similarly, our Open Sectional at Oasis in North County was a success and a joint sectional is planned again for Aug 15-16 at the Soledad Club. The Board of Directors is expected to stay the same, with board members Lamya Agelidis, John Boackle, Greg Chaffee, Marjorie O'Malley, Bridget Poizner, Kathy Byrne, Jane Petering, Mark Hartzell and Robin Rodger.
Masterpoint awards were presented for the "big" milestones (Ruby and Gold Life Master), and recipients of the unit masterpoint races in 4 categories were also recognized. A lovely catered lunch was served, as well as a celebratory cake during the break. Attached are selected pictures taken from this 19.5 table game (11.5 in the Open section, and a whopping 8 tables in the 699er section!)
